“Some day my prince will come
Some day I’ll find my love
And how thrilling that moment will be
When the prince of my dreams comes to me
He’ll whisper, I love you
And steal a kiss or two
Though he’s far away
I’ll find my love some day”
Although these lyrics may not necessarily and entirely be considered wicked or negative, there is something about these words that if not careful, can spark up a false hope for that young lady waiting for “Prince Charming.”
In fact, a lot of Disney movies gear towards ingraining in the minds and hearts of our children that false hope. Now, I am not against all Disney stuff because if we are open-minded, we will allow our children to know what is out there in the world but not necessarily be influenced by it.
Songs like these can instill into the hearts and minds of young girls and young ladies something that may eventually cause them to become hopeless.
As Christians, we know and understand that our hope doesn’t come from this world, but from the Lord.
“For thou art my hope, O Lord God: thou art my trust from my youth.” (Psalm 71:5)
A while back, I would tell my daughter that once we got home from wherever we were, we would drink hot cocoa.
Three nights later, it still didn’t happen. On those days, once we got home, it would either be getting dinner ready or feeding my youngest or something. (I’m sure all you moms can totally relate). By the fourth night, I became so guilty that we FINALLY had our hot cocoa together. And it was great!
But if I hadn’t had “someday” in the back of my mind, then I could’ve experienced that “greatness” sooner… I could’ve had some memories sooner… and I could’ve kept my word.
Now, what if I wasn’t granted such grace? What if I didn’t even have the opportunity to experience the following day with my daughter? You know what I’ll most likely remember? How I could have drank hot cocoa with her on her last night of life. That may sound silly but it’s true.
I hope this doesn’t sound too crazy but let’s face it, death comes knocking everyday. The question is, “When will it knock on your door?”
I pray to spend many more days, months, and years and have a lot of memories with my girls.
And that can start by focusing on Today rather than Someday. Just like tomorrow, someday is not promised.
So what is it, my friend? What is it that you’ve lost focus on regarding “Today?” Could it be that you have put off praying for your husband or your children? Could it be that you have put off telling your loved ones about Jesus? Or could it be that you have not accepted Jesus Christ as YOUR personal Lord and Saviour? Whatever it may be, TODAY CAN BE THAT DAY!
TODAY can make all the difference for your tomorrows.

Stop telling yourself that someday exists because no one knows what the future holds except God. Jesus told us that there is already enough evil to deal with in the “todays” of life so let’s take care of those before we galavant into the tomorrows.
There was this song that was sung often at my church when I was a teen and it’s quite appropriate for today’s blog post:
Jesus said “Here I stand, won’t you please let me in?”
And you said, “I will tomorrow”
Jesus said “I am He who supplies all your needs”

If you have been putting off making the most important decision in your life — being born again — I urge you to reconsider.
We are not promised tomorrow. We all have an appointment with death. The important question you should answer is not, “ When will it be” but rather, “Am I ready?”
You see, so many focus on preparing for their future here on earth while failing to secure their future for eternity. Before we can go on trying to secure our earthly treasures, I believe it is more vital to secure our eternal treasures — beginning with our eternal destination.
