Following Christ is not the norm. At least true followship isn’t. There are so many fans of Christ, but I wonder how many genuine followers of Christ there are? Don’t follow your feelings, follow Jesus. Don’t follow your heart, follow Jesus. Your heart is deceitful.
Following Christ does not mean you have to be perfect but rather accept the fact that you are loved in your imperfections. It doesn’t mean that you necessarily have to give up everything, but rather remember that God gives and takes away but He is still good.
“Jesus fed 5000 but only 500 followed Him after lunch. He had 12 disciples, but only 3 went further in the Garden and only 1 stood with Him at the cross. The closer you get to the Cross, the smaller the crowd becomes.” Are you a fan of Jesus or a follower of Jesus?
